I love being a personal trainer and group fitness instructor! With my 27 + years of being in this industry I have recognized that clients are having injuries and pain due to muscle imbalances, improper form and posture distortions. I love to pass on the remarkable techniques I have learned to my clients. I further extend my love for personal training by providing proper exercises that increase strength, stamina, and flexibility.
I have been a personal trainer and group fitness instructor for over 27 years. Every year I fall more and more in love with the health and fitness industry that constantly evolves and changes. This love started at the young age of 14 when my Physical Education teacher incorporated strength training into our class. I immediately took a liking to it. I would often stay after school to train in our small weight room and help her come up with new workouts for our class. At 16 I joined my first health club and sought to learn as much as I could about physical fitness. This encouraged me to decide on Eastern Washington University for college because of their Exercise Science program. This is where I earned my first Group Fitness Certification from a national organization. I began teaching a variety of group fitness classes and helped design strength training programs at a local women’s gym throughout college. I realized how much I enjoyed helping others reach their health and fitness goals.
I received my Certified Personal Training (CPT) certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and Group Fitness certification through Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). Other specialties include pilates, barre, indoor cycling, TRX, small group training and senior fitness.
The longer I trained, the more I recognized that clients were having injuries and pain due to muscle imbalances, improper form, and posture distortions. That is when I decided to earn my advanced certification in Posture Therapy from Egoscue University. I can now pass on the these remarkable techniques that can have immediate and lasting results. This training really brought together all of my other fields of expertise and allows me to really impact my clients.
I extend my love for personal training with the classes that I teach. I enjoy providing proper exercises that increase strength, stamina, and flexibility. I am thrilled to be a part of the Figures team and able to share with you my love of health and fitness through fun, energetic group classes and personal training for awesome results.
